WebWinnipeg

Keith (back seat) and the author on an unusually calm, 300-mile-long Lake Winnipeg.

A thundering nine-foot drop at Trout Falls. The ground shook.

WebWinnipeg WebTroutFalls

One of the few signs of man along the Hayes River. We believed this to be a seasonal hunting camp. This is our "cool" pose.

WebAFrame

A mile from the nearest shore. Don't ask.

WebBeaverDam

Rich and Hank stuck on a beaver dam. Poor (and wet) footing made these submerged dams tricky. LOTS of skeeters in this marshy area.

WebSplitCamp

A favorite camp, about 200 miles from the Bay.

Hank and Keith, very early in the trip. The Red River winds about so much that you can paddle "north" for half an hour and end up farther south than when you started.
